The highlight of this past Simcoe Day long weekend was attending Maker Festival at the Toronto Reference Library. It was such fun to see the ideas and share in the enthusiastic energy given off by the makers. It was even more fun to experience being a maker regardless of one’s age.
There was no shortage of 3D printing at this festival. One of the first things my daughter participated in was selecting a design on a laptop to make a charm. She chose a butterfly design to be printed on a 3D printer. This activity was presented by STEAMLabs. I understand STEAMLabs will soon have a membership for kids and adults to use its makerspace all year round in the heart of Toronto. What a great idea. (more…)
