Finger Painting and a Book about Creativity, Courage and Productivity

When was the last time you finger painted?  It’s something I rarely let my daughter do.  After reading “Let the Elephants Run” by David Usher, I was inspired to let my daughter have fun finger painting (see pictures below).  I will talk about the finger paintings at the end of my blog post (can you guess what media I used?).  I would like to talk about the book first.

As you may have read, I find it a challenge to read books.  I am glad that I was able to borrow this book from the library.  With a set due date, I was forced to finish the book by a certain date.

It has been a very long time since I have read a book in a single sitting.  It isn’t that this book is short.  It’s over 200 pages.  It’s because I was so intrigued by the content.  My curiosity was captured to dive further into the pages.  It also helped that colourful phrases and visuals were interspersed among the very short “chapters”.

Drinking ‘Read My Lips’ and Reading ‘168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think’

Eek!  Do you buy books that end up collecting dust because you have no time to read them?  That’s me!  They either sit around or I barely make it through the first few pages.  So I thought I would be brilliant by borrowing a book from the library.

Although “168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think” by Laura Vanderkam was published in 2010, I only learned about it last year when a female in-house counsel recommended it during a women’s event.  After I checked out the book, it sat on the corner of my desk for weeks.  Finally, a couple of days before the return date, I sat down with a cup of Read My Lips tea and opened the book (especially since the online system would not let me renew the book).
